Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) 45 C. TPMS ECU LEARNING PROCEDURE Prerequisite: A) All TPMS Sensors and TPMS ECU to be learnt shall be available. B) Check and verify part number of the TPMS ECU. It shall be 550254800102. Why ECU Learning is needed? 1) ECU is not having the respective Tire sensor ID with in its memory as it is recently flashed with updated software. This can be confirmed by reading DID for respective tire by using Diagnostic Tool. The respective DID are as follows: 6408: TPMS Front Left Tire ID 6609: TPMS Front Right Tire ID 640A: TPMS Rear Right Tire ID 640B: TPMS Rear Left Tire ID NOTE Total numbers of TPMS Sensors to be learnt are considered as 4. TPMS learning can be done through two ways: a) By using Triggering tools (LF tool). Triggering tool should be kept near to Tire valve to detect Sensor ID. This is done for all tires including spare. Once all tire IDs are known using LF tool, they are written in ECU using Diagnostic tools. The respective DIDs are as given above. (DID 64XX) b) TPMS Learning can also be done manually by service engineer as given below: For learning process please follow below steps. Execute the TPMS routine 4A01 in order to enter in manual learning mode. Before starting the TPMS learning, drop down the spare tire so you will be able to take out air from it. Respective Tire Sensor ID should be written in ECU using diagnostic tool. Do the following operation in the same sequence. Respective tire is triggered by reducing or increasing tire pressure by 1.2 psi/sec.
