ON VEHICLE SERVICE PROCEDURE 7. ENGINE REMOVAL AND REFITMENT FOR A. MT VEHICLE Description In many cases, the engine can be repaired while still in the vehicle. The engine must be removed in cases where the engine has been severely damaged beyond repair or the type of repair necessitates removal. Use the following procedure as a guide to engine removal and installation. Engine Removal • Place the vehicle on the two post lift and 1. engage the parking brake. Open the hood (bonnet) of the vehicle. 2. Remove snorkel Assy with mounting. 3. Remove the air filter assembly. 4. Disconnect the negative (-) cable and then the 5. positive (+) cable from the engine. Disconnect and label the Engine wiring harness 6. connection with ECU. Remove Battery, Battery plate and ECU from 7. the vehicle. NOTE Access to an overhead hoist will ease removal of the engine. Use a vehicle lifting hoist, if available. ENGINE 1.2L BSVI PHASE-2 86
