TIAGO TIGOR BS6 PHASE 2_SERVICE MANUAL

Carbon Fouling - Dark sooty deposits will be 2. present on the entire spark plug. This may cause the electrode to short-circuit, weakening or eliminating spark. Typically caused by excess fuel from a leaking fuel injector, sticking idle speed control valve, or a clogged air filter. Replace the spark plugs if carbon fouled. Oil Fouling- Heavy wet deposits indicate the 3. spark plug is oil fouled. Oil fouling occurs when engine oil is entering the combustion chamber from defective piston rings, valve guides or seals, or a blown head gasket. May also occur during run-in/break In on new or overhauled engines. Replace the spark plugs if oil fouled. Overheating- Overheating is typically caused 4. by the over-advancement of ignition timing, a lean fuel mixture, incorrect spark plug heat range, or incorrect fuel octane rating.Electrodes and insulator will be white and may show signs of wear. Replace overheated spark plugs. Detonation - A detonation or pre-ignition 5. condition will look the similar to an overheating condition, but wear and damage will be much worse such as insulator cracking or breaking. Typically caused by the wrong grade of fuel, incorrect spark plug heat range, or an extremely lean condition. The problem must be identified and repaired immediately otherwise severe engine damage will occur. Do not reuse broken or cracked spark plugs. AC COMPRESSOR AND ALTERNATOR V. BELT REPLACEMENT Description • The belt used in this vehicle is multi ribbed belt. This belt is pre-tensioned over Air conditioner compressor and crank shaft pulley and therefore do not require the tensioner as this is capable of efficient power transmission. Inspect: • Inspect the belt for excessive wear or damage. 1. Replace the belt if any of the following are noticed: Hardening - belt will be glossy and hard. 2. Pressing on the belt with a fingernail will not make an impression. Cracks in rubber. 3. Canvas showing. 4. Broken, cracked, or missing belt tooth. 5. Excessive wear on side of belt. The side of the 6. belt should appear to have been cut with a knife. Removal : • Remove alternator, compressor and water 1. pump driving Belts. For Outer Stretch Belts (AC Compressor Belt) Removal use special Tool 5427 5890 0602. CAUTION The belt is not interchangeable and should not be interchanged with normal multi-ribbed belts ENGINE 1.2L BSVI PHASE-2 55
