P0880- 06: SMP 5V power Supply under medium threshold Overview: ISO Code P0880- 06 Customer Symptom Transmission Fault Lamp ON, Vehicle shifting to neutral when idling Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Vehicle shifting to neutral when idling Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission Fault Lamp ON Fault Detection Condition This fault gets detected after Ignition On if the TCU detects that the 5 V safety processor supply is below a medium threshold. Normal Operating Condition 5 V safety processor supply is within limits Probable Trouble Area TCU damage Healing Condition 50ms after detection of valid heal condition Component Details: The Problem may occur due to an internal damage to TCU. Preliminary Checks: 1) Battery voltage 2) Check for damage or back out of pins at TCU connectors. 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis (tightness, corrosion of mounting bolts etc.) . Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1 At the first instance of the fault, clear the DTC and run the vehicle in all gears for about 10 kms, does the fault recur? Go to Step 2 Release the vehicle to the customer after final drive test 2 Check Battery and Ignition supplies at pins 1,3and 5 respectively. Both are correct? Go to Step 3 rectify harness connections as per the circuit schematic 3 Is there any pin back out/damage/rust/oxidation observed on TCU Connector? Clean or repair or replace connector Go to Step4 4 Fault Still Persists? Replace TCU Follow the steps again for reconfirmation - the following points by referring TCU parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. Drive the vehicle through all gears in both Automatic and Manual modes Ensure no DTC is active and Transmission Fault Lamp is OFF.
