P0715 -03: Clutch Speed Sensor Circuit Signal absent Overview: ISO Code P0715-03 Customer Symptom Transmission Fault Lamp ON, Vehicle not shifting above 2nd gear, vehicle shifting automatically to Neutral sometime after drive is requested by Lever, no gearshift (if other critical faults are also present in system) Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Transmission Fault Lamp ON, Vehicle not shifting above 2nd gear, vehicle shifting automatically to Neutral sometime after drive is requested by Lever, no gearshift (if other critical faults are also present in system) Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission Fault Lamp ON Fault Detection Condition This fault gets detected after Ignition On if the clutch speed is not detected under conditions where it is expected to be nonzero. Normal Operating Condition Clutch speed is expected to be non-zero under regular driving conditions (engaged drivetrain). Probable Trouble Area Wiring Harness Connections / Sensor / TCU Healing Condition 2000 milliseconds after valid sensor signal Component Details: The Clutch speed sensor is a variable reluctance pickup sensor mounted in the gearbox, which outputs a number of pulses per rotation. Based on the frequency, clutch speed is determined by the TCU. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between Sensor and TCU. 2) Visually check sensor mounting & Air gap, proper tightening of mounting screws and any visible damage. 3) Check for damage or back out of pins at Clutch speed sensor connector and TCU connector. 4) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Is there any rust/oxidation observed on Sensor or TCU Terminals? Clean the Rust or repair or replace Go to Step 2 2. Is there wiring harness electrical continuity between TCU pins 5 and 6 (12 pin system connector) to clutch sensor connector pins 2 and 1 respectively? Go to Step 3 Establish continuity by rectifying harness connections as per the circuit schematic 3. Are there any pins damaged at Sensor, or TCU Connector? Repair/Replace the problematic part Go to step 4 4 Are TCU Sensor Signal pins 5 and 6 (12 pin system connector) Short circuited to GND/Battery? Repair the harness as per the schematic Go to Step 5 5 Are there any pins backed out from the Sensor or TCU Connector? Rectify/Replace Connectors Go to Step 6 6 Is sensor wire cladding properly grounded? Go to Step 7 Check cladding connection and rectify / replace the sensor 7 Fault Still Persists? Replace Sensor, if fault persists Replace TCU Follow the steps again for reconfirmation nfirmation:-
