KRYOTEC ENGINE 68 5. Place a suitable container under the oil sump pan and remove the drain plug. 6. Allow the oil to drain from the engine. 7. Wipe the sump drain plug clean and apply sealant or equivalent to the drain plug threads. Tighten the plug to specified torque. 8. Remove excess oil from the oil filter nipple. 9. Remove the engine oil filter. Collect residual oil from filter. 10. Apply a thin coating of fresh oil on the new oil filter sealing washer. 11. Carefully thread the new oil filter onto the engine block. Hand-tighten the filter until the filter is firm against the sealing surface. 12. Lower the vehicle to the ground and add 6.5 liters of fresh oil through the oil fill hole on the cylinder head cover. 13. Start the engine, observing the oil pressure indicator on the instrument panel. Stop the engine immediately if the light fails to go out within a few seconds of starting the engine. 14. Allow the engine to run for two to three minutes before stopping. 15. Check the oil level using the engine dipstick to make sure the engine oil level is at the 'MAX' mark on the dipstick. 16. Check for oil leaks at the filter or drain plug. ii. ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT  Description Replace the engine coolant and flush the cooling system as per service schedule.  Procedure WARNING Coolant is poisonous to humans and animals. Use care when handling coolant and use proper disposal otherwise death or injury may occur. Never loosen or remove the coolant reservoir cap while the engine cooling system is still hot. Removing the reservoir cap may allow hot coolant or steam to escape, causing severe bums. The electric cooling fan, may start at any time. Disconnect the battery cable to prevent the fan from operating while servicing the cooling system. 1. Allow the vehicle engine to cool sufficiently before proceeding. 2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable. 3. Remove the coolant reservoir cap. 4. Raise the vehicle off the ground to access the coolant drain petcock on the radiator.  Raise the vehicle with a lift hoist.  Park the vehicle on flat, level surface and engage the parking brake. Place chocks at the rear wheels and raise the front of the vehicle with a floor jack. 5. Place a container capable of holding at least eight (8) litres of liquid beneath the drain plug on the radiator.
