HARRIER BSVI MCE - SERVICE MANUAL

SUSPENSION 3  The rear suspension is Twist/Torsion beam.  Suspension also called as Torsion beam/ ‘H’-type suspension. The front of the ‘H‘ attaches to the body via rubber bushings, and the rear of the ‘H’ carries each wheel, on each side of the car. The cross beam of the ‘H’ holds the two trailing arms together, and provides additional roll stiffness due to twisting of the cross beam; this twisting is caused as the two trailing arms move vertically, relative to each other.  The Twist beam suspension in the vehicle has greatly enhanced the ride comfort as well as the vehicle handling as compared to it’s the earlier models. The coil springs rests on a pad/spring seat alongside the wheels. The springs and the spring seat bear paint marking for correct positioning of the spring on the spring seat.
