HARRIER BSVI MCE - SERVICE MANUAL

SUSPENSION 1 1. GENERAL INFORMATION  FRONT SUSPENSION Front Suspension is McPherson type, independent suspension, Lower Wishbone with the Damper Assembly and the spring acting as both damping and flexible elements at the same time, structural and kinematic elements. The main components of this structure are:  Front lower control arm: sheet metal arm with conventional rubber bush at front and hydra bush at rear pivot.  Suspension bushes have been exclusively designed to improve the comfort, adopted asymmetric stiffness for the rear LCA bush to reduce the impact harshness during acceleration and braking.  Front subframe creates structure with BIW which helps in crash, supports suspension components. It is full subframe with bushes at mounting location which improves NVH (noise vibration & harshness).  “Rubberized” top mount for improved filtering of road vibrations and noise at the same time guaranteeing excellent structural strength favoring driving precision.  Anti-roll bar with Stab link mounted on the Damper Assembly that allow improved stabilizing efficiency and better dynamic responsiveness around bends.  Double acting telescopic hydraulic Damper Assembly with improved lateral rigidity assisting road holding during cornering. Valve assemblies have been selected for excellent vibration damping.  Method of attachment to the body shell has also been improved; rubberized anchorage on the suspension tower improves the noise isolation. There by improving comfort.
