1.2L REVOTRON Bi FUEL CNG ENGINE 96 5. LP Filter The low pressure particulate filter is located in between the Pressure regulator and CNG rail. This unit separates the impurities present in the gas from going towards the injector and engine. It can filter particles up to 2 microns. CNG Filling Receptacle Function: An NGV 1 type fast filling valve is fitted in this vehicle. At the CNG filling station, the CNG gun is locked on to the CNG receptacle and flow of gas is initiated. The filling receptacle serves the following functions: An NGV type filling receptacle facilitates fast filling of CNG into the cylinder. Filter the CNG of dirt and impurities from entering the vehicle CNG circuit. To prevent back flow of gas from the vehicle circuit to the outside. Check valve The Receptacle valve is provided with an inbuilt check valve or non-return valve which ensures that there is no back flow of gas from the vehicle circuit to the outside . Filter The Receptacle valve has a filter of 50 microns to protect the vehicle CNG circuit from external particles and impurities which may cause blockage. O-ring The O-ring within the receptacle is specially designed to withstand the harsh environment of a CNG vehicle. The O-ring does not come in the direct path of the gas and is enclosed within a groove so that there is no direct contact with gas during filling and has a longer service life. Mounting Location: CNG Receptacle valve is fitted near petrol filling location under front bonnet. CNG Cylinder Valve Function: The Cylinder valve is a safety and control device which can open or shut-off the CNG supply. The flow of gas from the filling receptacle to the cylinder and from the cylinder towards the engine happens via the cylinder valve. The valve consists of a Pressure Release Valve, Pressure Release Device and an Excess Flow Valve. These safety devices provide protection in case of line rupture, over pressure and fire. The Pressure Release valve and Pressure Release device operates independently for additional protection. The Cylinder valve consists of following components. Excess flow device: This cuts off the flow of gas from inside the cylinder to the outside in the event of complete rupture of the high pressure stainless steel tube. The cut off happens due to the pressure differential between the tank pressure and ambient. Burst Disc/Pressure Release Valve: This is a valve which opens up and relieve the cylinder pressure if it exceeds 300 bar. Fusible plug: Fusible plug is a pressure relief device which is thermal activated in case of excessive rise in temperature near the valve. The device is activated when the temperature exceeds about 108 °C. Manual ON / OFF Knob or Tap: The cylinder valve has a manual tap/valve is normally kept open and it can be closed at the time of maintenance / service and/or when the vehicle is parked in confined space and in case of leakage in the high pressure or low pressure line. The Knob should be open to allow flow of CNG to Engine. In the close position, CNG feeding from the tank to the engine and CNG filling from the filling receptacle to the tank is closed. The opening and closing directions are clearly marked on the knob. To open the valve, the knob must be turned completely in the anti-clockwise direction and to close, the knob must be turned completely in the clockwise direction.
