23 AIRCONDITIONING 5. Evaporator Assembly / Thermostat / Expansion Valve : 1. Remove the complete HVAC unit and separate the blower assy . 2. Remove thermostat-mounting bolts. 3. Remove evaporator case bottom (with drain hoses) by removing fasteners. Fig. 30. 4. Carefully pull out thermostat capillary from the evaporator coil. 5. Lift evaporator assembly from the HVAC case. 6. Disconnect expansion valve and Tube & Accessories. Fig. 30 Sr. No. Part Name 1. Evaporator 2. Expansion valve 3. Evaporator case left 4. Make sure that the remote bulb of expansion valve is seated properly in dimple on suction tube and secured by holder remote bulb before covering the expansion valve with insulator packing. 9. Use proper tools while loosening and tightening nut and union joints on tubes. 10. Insert tube fully inside the union half o-ring is completely inserted before starting tightening the nut to avoid o-ring damage.
