CLEANING AND INSPECTING Wheel Unit Bearing Clean bearing cup with metal cleaning solvent. Inspect cup for any possible wear, nicks etc. The cone assembly can be cleaned in place on the axle shaft. Use stiff bristle brush and compressed air. Note: Bear ing should not be ‘Spin dr ied’ with compressed air. Air should be directed so that it goes through the bearing. Clean bearing bore in the housing. After inspection, lubricate bearing with a small amount of specified lube prior to installation.
