13 FUELSYSTEM 2.2LDICOR Disconnect the fuel filter to pump supply pipe from the filter and fit the appropriate protection plug to the end of the pipe. Disconnect the fuel filter to sedimenter and plug the pipe with the appropriate plug. Loosen and remove the mounting bolt. Take out the filter from its mounting bracket. Installation of Fuel Filter: - Place the new filter in the retaining bracket, ensuring it is pushed fully home. Then rotate the filter to the required position and tighten the mounting bracket. Ensure that the connections of the new filter are clean before removing the protection plugs from the filter and pipe. Identify inlet and outlet ports of the sedimenter with the help of printed arrows given on the top face of the fuel filter. Reconnect the sedimenter to filter supply pipe. Reconnect the filter to HP pump supply pipe. Fit the fuel return line to fuel filter. Using hand primer refill the fuel lines before starting the vehicle. PRIMINGPUMP (Fig. 11) If the performance of the engine is affected due to the presence of the air in the fuel system (commonly known as air lock), the detect can be removed by bleeding the fuel system. This can be done by pumping the Priming pump. Do not loosen the HP lines of DICOR System for bleeding the air from the fuel system. Also whenever the fuel filter or sedimenter are replaced, Use hand primer to refill the fuel lines before restarting. Note Do not loosen the HP lines of DICOR for bleeding the air from the fuel system. Bleeding of the fuel system should be done only using priming pump and engine should be started. Fig. 11
