ELECTRICAL 12 REFITMENT: 1.Place the battery in battery tray. 2.Assemble the battery side clamps in corresponding slots on assy battery try (sheetmetal). 3.Place the battery top clamp on battery by matching two holes with side clamps. 4.Fit the two mounting nuts on both side clamps and two Dome cap nuts on both side. Tightening Torque of both nuts – 0.8 Kgm 5.Place the BDU on the positive terminal of battery aligning battery terminal with battery pole. 6.Ensure the routing of fuse box cable in its original way & no contact with any sharp edge of battery tray & parts. 7.Align the clamps with profile guide & press the fuse holder on the both side until lock with battery. 8.Tight the mounting nut of positive terminal of battery. 9.Place the BDU cover. 10. Connect the negative terminal of battery. DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION & PROCEDURES: CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTION/REFERENCE ITEM Battery getting discharged frequently Leakage current is high due to extra accessories fitted on the vehicle. Measure the leakage current. If it is greater than 22 mA, disconnect the idle power consuming accessories. Alternator belt loose Tighten belt Battery terminals loose Tighten the terminals Battery terminals corroded Clean the terminals & apply silicon jelly on both the terminals. Alternator voltage regulator setting wrong Check alternator output voltage. It should be between 14.25 V and 14.75 V. Otherwise replace the regulator with a genuine spare. Battery not getting charged Idle speed of engine too low Adjust engine idle speed
