SUPPLEMENTARY RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) 31 VI SRS WARNING LAMP It warns the vehicle driver when the air bag electrical system malfunctions, which could potentially affect the operation of the air, bag system. These malfunctions could result in unintended performance of the system. A warning light should never come ON unless there is a fault in vehicle's air bag system (Supplemental restraint system or SRS). The SRS ECU runs a selfcheck every ignition cycle. If it finds a fault in a crash sensor or restraint components or the wiring or itself, it will set a code, turn on the warning light. In such cases, restraints components and system performance could be compromised. NOTE For details, refer Diagnostic Trouble shooting guidelines. . LOCATION The “AIR BAG” warning lamp is located in the instrument cluster and controlled by SRS ECU. VII PAB DEACTIVATION SWITCH The passenger airbag deactivation switch can be operated by the vehicle key. Passenger airbag deactivation switch allows the driver to disable the passenger airbag in case a child occupant is seated in a rearward facing CRS sitting on the co-driver seat. The PAB deactivation switch can be operated using the Ignition Key. NOTE Before starting a trip, the driver should check the status of the PAB on the indicator provided on the roof. LOCATION The PAB deactivation switch is mounted on the end cover of the dashboard at the co-driver side.
