ELECTRICAL 140 8.9.12 HAND BRAKE SWITCH FUNCTION: It gives signal to the instrument cluster regarding the position of Hand brake Lever. LOCATION: It is fitted on parking brake bracket. REMOVAL 1. Remove the floor console. (Refer Procedure from Body Section). 2. Disconnect the electrical connection from hand brake switch. 3. Pry out the hand brake switch. INSPECTION: Check switch for continuity. CONDITION SPECIFIED OFF Position (Parking brake released) No continuity ON Position (Parking Brake lever pulled up) Continuity If checked result is not specified, replace switch. REFITMENT: 1. Locate the switch on the hand brake lever bracket and fit one mounting screw. 2. Connect the electrical connection to the switch. 3. Fit the floor console (Refer Procedure from Body Section).
