ELECTRICAL 93 LBIBS PIN DETAILS Pin No. Signal Name Signal Type Active Level INPUT/OUTPUT Nominal operating Current (A) at Voltage (V) 1 LIN LIN - Communication 0.0005 A 2 Internal_12V Digital High Power supply 0.1 A 3 Key ring Illumination PWM High Input 0.01 A 4 GND GND - Vehicle GND NA Note: 1. Pin-1(LIN) connected to BCM Pin_C1_35(LIN Bus) for transponder authentication info. 2. Pin-2 connected to BCM Pin_C1_46 for internal power supply. 3. Pin-3 connected to BCM Pin_C2_3 for Key ring Illumination input. 4. Pin-4 connected to Vehicle ground. LIN BASED IMMOBILIZER WORKING PRINCIPLE: BCM communicates with LIN Based immobilizer base station (LBIBS) via LIN to authenticate transponder. BCM communicates with EMS via CAN to authenticate & Informs the transponder status to EMS. The EMS ECU and the BCM are paired together by an encrypted secret code called as “AES secret key”, to improve the security of the vehicle. This AES secret key is generated using the vehicle identification number (VIN) and it is unique for each vehicle. Both BCM and the EMS ECU are programmed with same secret key for mutual authentication. If any one of EMS or ICU has different/ wrong secret key, vehicle will be locked (engine cannot be started). If EMS or IBCM is changed in a vehicle, it is required pairing operation (EMS ECU & ICU programmed with same secret key) for proper mutual authentication. The pairing of EMS and Immobilizer can be done through diagnostic tester. These E-keys are learned for that BCM_IMMO and are unique to that BCM_IMMO & vehicle. The E-key of other vehicles will not work with this BCM_IMMO and vice versa. If anyone of the E-key is lost, it is recommended to approach TATA AUTHORIZED dealer for new E-key. It is possible to learn new keys with the help of diagnostic tester (Refer the key pairing procedure). IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM STATUS: If IGN is OFF/ACC, then BCM shall blink IMMO tell-tale with 0.2 second ON time and 0.8 second OFF time. If BCM is in sleep mode, then BCM shall blink IMMO tell-tale with 0.2 second ON time and 0.8 second OFF time. When the ignition key is turned to the “ON” position,  If the status bulb goes OFF indicates that the system is working and the vehicle is unlocked (Engine is ready to start).  If the status bulb is continuously ON, there may be something wrong with key or with the immobilizer system. If IGN is ON/ OFF and key learning is on-going, then BCM shall blink IMMO tell-tale with 0.1 second ON time and 0.4 second OFF time.
