Automated Manual Transmission 27 NOTE: Repeat the test several times to be safe. Brake Pedal Switch Check: 1. Bring the ignition key to Ignition. 2. Connect the diagnostic tool equipment and select “State Inputs (ON/OFF)” for the brake pedal switch. 3. Press the brake pedal and check that the value displayed changes (for released to pressed or vice versa). 4. If the change of state does not occur check the brake pedal switch, its fixing, position and wiring. Clutch Drag Check*: To be carried out after 2 minutes after the engine starting. During these 2 minutes the TCU performs the auto calibration of the kiss point. 1. Connect diagnostic tool equipment. 2. Start the car and put the gearbox in neutral. 3. With the engine idling, read the value of the clutch plate speed parameter 4. If the clutch plate speed is higher than zero, the clutch dragging condition is present. 5. In active diagnosis perform the calibration of the clutch parameters by means of "enabling clutch auto calibration". 6. Repeat the points from 2 to 4. If the problem does not occur: go to point 7. 7. In the absence of clutch drag bring the engine to temperature and heat the clutch by setting off several times (with accelerator pedal pressed beyond half of its travel). 8. Repeat steps 1 to 4. 9. If as referred to in step 4 it is found to be in the clutch drag condition it is therefore necessary to the replace the clutch mechanism; if not there is no clutch drag. NOTE: The phenomenon of clutch drag is very often found in warm engines. What to do in the event of an error in the TCU Errors on the CAN network: Check: the follows: That the network detects all the control units (any control unit connected tothe CAN could cause network operating problems). If one of the control units is not communicating, restore/replace the control unit involved. The state of the connections and continuity of the wiring regarding the CAN line. It is advisable not to stop at a visual analysis of the connection, but test with under mechanical stress (pull the wires, twist, check the looseness of pins); if there is a fault, restore/replace the wiring. NOTE: The control unit replacement is the last action to be carried out. For the wiring, measure (after POWER LATCH) the equivalent resistance, which must be 60 ohm in key Off conditions. Solenoid valve for 1st/2nd position selection: Carry out the solenoid valve active diagnosis. If the result of the test is not positive, move on to the next step. Check the state of the connections and the continuity of the wiring. If a fault is found restore/replace the wiring. Carry out the solenoid valve active diagnosis again. If the test fails, replace the
