Revotron 1.2T 79 2. Oil Filter : The oil filter used is a "Spin On Type" fitted. The main function of oil filter is to filter all contaminants that get ingested into the engine, along with traces of worn out metals from bearings and other internal parts. The oil enters the oil filter under pressure through the holes on the perimeter of the base plate. The oil then passes through the filter element where it is cleaned, and then flows to the central tube and back into the engine, oil gallery. 3. Oil Strainer : The oil strainer is fitted to the oil pump, through which the oil is drawn from oil sump and supplied to the oil gallery. The strainer acts like a filter and blocks the contaminants from entering the oil pump. 4. Piston cooling Nozzle Piston cooling nozzles are fitted on the block / on the crankshaft oil gallery such that the oil sprayed from it hits the underside of the piston crown / gallery. This is very essential to bring down the piston crown temperature. 5. Oil Pressure Switch Sensor : Oil pressure switch sends the signal to low oil pressure indicator lamp provided on the vehicle instrument panel by closing the circuit to ground when the oil pressure is low / below the optimum value.
