AIR CONDITIONING 55 B OAT (Outside Ambient Temperature) The ambient temperature sensor is an encapsulated thermistor that provides the ECU with an input of external air temperature. Ambient sensor is a thermistor that decreases its resistance when temperature increases and increases when temperature decreases. Location Outside Ambient Temperature (OAT) sensor located under the front grill / front bumper. Inspection: Measure the resistance between terminals of the sensor at minimum two temperatures. The resistance value should match with stated values of resistance in table below T (˚c) R Gerber (Ω) T (˚c) R Gerber (Ω) -30 53046.9±1326.1 +5 7594±113.9 -20 29092.1±610.9 +10 5953.9±101.2 -10 16567.3±281.6 +20 3737.3±78.4 -5 12662.1± 177.2 +30 2412±57.8 0 9773.2± 117.2
