NEXON EV SERVICE MANUAL

LV ELECTRICAL SYSTEM 82 19.2. SMART KEY OR WEARABLE LEARNING PROCEDURE NOTE: Please note procedure of learning wearable and smart key is same. Whenever required, keep wearable near to console antenna same way you are keeping smart key near to console antenna. Prerequisite: All smart keys and wearable (if any) to be learnt shall be available. NOTE:  Total numbers of smart keys or wearable to be learnt are considered as 2.  Indicated operational steps along with timings to be followed else learning operation will fail. PROCEDURE: 1. No IGN ON is mandatory to learn smart key or wearable with PEPS ECU. Only PEPS ECU shall be in awake mode, which shall be achieved by turning, and keeping ON position lamps or hazard lamps until learning is done. 2. If fresh ECU is present, Free IGN ON are available i.e. user can turn ON IGN without smart key or wearable is learned for 25 times. 3. Place the Smart Key or wearable to be learnt within 7 cm around the front / console antenna. 4. Run “Start transponder learning routine initial” through diagnostics. PEPS check the validity of the key or wearable. Refer latest PEPS ESDS for detailed procedure. 5. If above steps is OK, all previous learned smart keys and wearable data are deleted (if any). Immobilizer lamp start blinking (ON=0.1sec, OFF=0.4sec) indicating that PEPS is learning the smart key or wearable. 6. Once respective key or wearable is learnt, Immobilizer lamp remains ON indicating that PEPS has learnt the key. Refer latest PEPS ESDS for detailed procedure. 7. If next key or wearable to be learnt, a) Remove already learnt key or wearable from console antenna area and place next key to be learnt within 10 sec. b) Once respective key or wearable is learnt, Immobilizer lamp remains ON indicating that PEPS has learnt the key or wearable. 8. If further key or wearable learning is not required, leave the already learned key or wearable in console antenna area for more than 10 sec. Note that in this case, only one key or wearable will be learnt with PEPS and PEPS will log “partial pairing” DTC which can be ignored. NOTE: For more details please refer PEPS ECU Replacement procedure and attached image of console antenna. MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLE SHOOTING CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTION/REFERENCE ITEM ECU Communication Error OBD connection  Check the OBD cable connection with Diagnostic Connector of vehicle.  Check the OBD cable connection with Silicon Engine module Com port connection  Check the com settings.  Connect RS232 cable to COM Port.  Check the ‘DSR’ and ‘DTR’ LEDs are on RS232 Silicon Engine module. If both are Red re-initialize the unit. PCMCIA Card Connection  For details read the reference document “PCMCIA_Card_Port_SettingsPDF” available on site https://ed.tatamotors.com USB Port Connection  Check the USB LED on USB Silicon Engine.  If it is red then connect USB Cable to USB Port and Install the drivers from the CD or from the application path directory.  Check the USB LED on USB Silicon Engine. If it is green then initialize the unit. Software Not Working Corrupt version of Software  Reinstall the software.
