ELECTRICAL 38 8. HORN LOCATION: Horn is located in front of the car, behind the front bumper, on frame-radiator support and chassis REMOVAL OF HORN: 1. Remove the front bumper: Refer body group. 2. Disconnect the connector from horn. 3. Loosen horn-mounting fastener & remove Horn. INSPECTION OF HORN: Connect the positive terminal of the horn to battery (+) and negative terminal to battery (-). If a clean and sharp sound is heard, the horn is OK. If no sound is heard, check continuity of the horn coil using a multi-meter. If the coil is OK, check the settings of the setting screw. Adjust the setting screw till a clean and sharp sound is given out. REFITMENT: For refitment follow the procedure in reverse. HORN –TORQUE VALUE TABLE APPLICATION TORQUE Horn MTG Bkt 12 - 18 Nm CONNECTIONS DETAILS For circuit details refer circuit schematic section CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSES CORRECTION/REFERENCE ITEM Horn not working 1. Grounding point loose Tighten grounding properly 2. Horn fuse (15A) in Engine fuse box blown Replace the fuse 3. Horn relay in Engine loose Fix the relay properly 4. Horn switch terminal / horn switch contact in steering pad improper Replace control switch plunger topping/Adjust horn switch contact in steering pad properly Horn sound distorted 1. Horn terminals loose Connect the terminals properly 2. Horn setting screw disturbed Adjust the setting screw till a clean and sharp sound is obtained 3. Horn connector or blade rusty Clean the rust
