C667- CALIPPER receptacle housing with CPA (secondary lock) FIG 1 FIG 2 FIG 3 Insertion Locking the CPA Releasing the CPA ASSEMBLING & REMOVING THE MATING CONNECTOR Receptacle housings fitted with a CPA are delivered with the CPA in pre-locking position FIG 1 To make the connection, take the receptacle housing in the hand, engage it with the mating tab housing or interface and press together until the axial stop is reached and an audible click is heard. A check should also be made that the locking clips has engaged over the locking feature provided on the tab housing. Additional security for the connection is then provided by sliding the CPA into its final, engaged position (Fig. 2). The CPA is pushed in the direction of the arrow in Fig. 2 until an audible click is heard It is not possible or permitted to fit or lock the receptacle housing onto its mating tab housing or interface unless the CPA is in its pre-lock position. This position is ensured by the locking arm on the receptacle housing, which blocks any movement of the CPA until the receptacle housing has been correctly assembled to its mating tab housing or interface. Only then is the CPA free to be moved into its final, locking position To remove the receptacle housing from its mating tab housing or interface the CPA must first be disengaged. This is done by sliding the CPA in the direction of the arrow in Fig. 3, away from the connection, back into its pre-lock position.Pressure is then exerted on the part of the CPA which protrudes above the locking clips, while simultaneously pulling the socket housing from its mating tab housing or interface. The pressure on the CPA causes the locking clips to swing out and release from the locking feature. Never pull the wiring harness in order to release the connection!
