ELECTRICAL 51 B. STEERING LOCK CUM IGNITION SWITCH FUNCTION To lock the steering wheel. To start & stop the engine. To switch on accessories and other electrical system. LOCATION It is fitted on steering column below the steering wheel and combi switch. REMOVAL OF STEERING LOCK CUM IGNITION SWITCH (SLCIS): 1. Disconnect battery negative terminal. 2. Remove steering nacelle. (Refer “Removal & refitment of steering nacelle" from steering section.) 3. Remove steering wheel. (Refer “Removal & refitment of steering wheel" from steering section.) 4. Remove combi switch. (Refer “Removal & Refitment of combi switch") 5. Disconnect steering lock cum Ignition switch connection. 6. Loosen the Steering Lock Cum Ignition Switch mounting screws. 7. Remove assembly of SLCIS. REFITMENT: 1. Refit SLCIS and tighten its mounting screws. 2. Reconnect SLCIS connection. 3. Refit combination switch. 4. Refit steering Wheel. 5. Refit steering nacelle. 6. Refit battery negative terminal.
