HVAC 16 D. CONDENSER AND RECEIVER DRIER i. CONDENSER The condenser is a heat exchanger used to cool the hot vapourised refrigerant. Also the refrigerant changes its state from vapour to liquid. The conden- ser is placed in front of the radiator behind the radiator is the fan used to draw in ambient air. ii. RECEIVER DRIER (R.D) The receiver drier is integrated into the Condenser and has three main functions. i) It absorbs the moisture in the refrigerant. ii) It allows only liquid ( high pressure liquid) to pass through to the TXV. iii) It keeps a reserve of refrigerant to accommodate fluctuating refrigerant requirements. E. CONDENSER SEALING DUCTS Sealings are used to guide the flow of the air to the condenser and also to avoid the hot air recirculating from the engine compartment to the condenser. F. PRESSURE SENSOR The pressure sensor is located on the high-pressure refrigerant liquid tube, beside the brake booster. The Pressure sensor is provide on the high pressure tube liquid line of the refrigerant, it is functionally connected to Vehicle Electronic control Unit (VCU) to control the AC compressor, and radiator / condenser fan. It also gives a feedback to the Control panel in case of its intervention. LOCATION: The pressure switch is located on the high pressure refrigerant liquid tube, beside the brake booster. PIN OUT:
