SUSPENSION 16 CONDITION PROBABLE DEFECT CORRECTIVE ACTION Vehicle Shaking Vibra- tions 1.Wheels out of balance 1.Balance wheels or replace tyre or wheel 2.Loose wheel bearings. 2.Replace wheel bearings 3.Worn out tie rod ends. 3.Replace tie rod end 4.Worn out lower ball joints. 4.Replace ball joint or lower link at front 5.Excessive wheel run out. 5.Repair / replace wheel or tyre 6.Disturbed front / rear end alignments 6.Check and adjust front / rear end alignments Low or uneven trim height 1.Broken or sagging springs. 1.Replace the springs. 2.Vehicle overloaded. 2.Check the load. 3.Springs incorrect. 3.Replace the springs. Body Sways in Corners 1.Loose antiroll bar (ARB). 1.Tighten ARB bolts or replace the mounting bushes. 2.Faulty strut or mounting. 2.Replace strut or tighten mounting. 3.Broken or sagging springs. 3.Replace springs. 6. PRECAUTIONS 1.Since all suspension fasteners are critical in suspension attachments with regard to performance and safety of vehicle, these must be replaced with one of the same part number in case of replacement. 2.Torque values must be maintained as specified during reassembly for proper retention of the parts. The replacement parts should be of the same quality as of the designed parts. 3.Damaged parts should be replaced only with new parts. Welding, straightening, or any other form of repairing should not be attempted. 4.Lower arm bushes are to be aligned properly while fitment. 5.Care should be taken while handling spring loaded suspension components. 6.Reapplication of thread locker to be ensured, wherever specified, once joint is disturbed/dismantled/torqued etc. Residues of earlier thread locker to be cleaned properly. While cleaning, do not use any substance that has lubricating properties or leaves residue post drying.
