ELECTRICAL 92 14. IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (If Applicable): DESCRIPTION: Immobilizer system is designed to prevent vehicle theft by electronically disabling the engine starting system. The engine can be started only with vehicle’s original immobilizer ignition key which has an electronic identification programmed code. The electronic key communicates the identification code to Immobilizer control unit (ICU) when the key is turned to the “Ignition ON” position. Immobilizer comes with two Electronic keys (E- key), (maximum 6 E-keys are possible). The immobilizer used is based on CAN system. CAUTION: As CAN communication protocol doesn’t work beyond 18V, vehicle will not start under “Jump Start with voltage > 18 V” conditions. ABBREVATIONS: SCL - Steering Column Lock ICU - Immobilizer control unit EMS - Engine management system ECU - Electronic control unit DTC - Diagnostic Trouble Code AES - Advanced encryption standard E-Key - Electronic Key W/H - Wiring Harness SPD - Spare Part Division SPECIFICATIONS Operating voltage range: +6.5 Vdc to +16 Vdc (governed by internal_12V output of BCM) Operating temperature range: -40°C to +85°C Storage Temperature range: -40°C to +90°C Diagnostics: KWP2000 protocol over k-line Unlock Mechanism: LIN 2.0(Buffered Communication) LOCATION Note: As the LBIBS PCB (located in dash board) & Antenna PCB (located in ignition lock) are connected without any connector, so please take necessary precautions while removing the LBIBS.
