BODY 31 b. TAIL GATE LATCH CABLE REMOVAL 1. Open the tail gate. 2. Remove parcel shelf. 3. Remove rear seat backrest (for removal process refer rear seat removal process). 4. Flip the cushion assembly. 5. First remove the carpet on the right hand side of the vehicle so that the cable routing is visible. 6. Disconnect tailgate latch cable from tailgate latch lever. 7. Remove tail gate striker. (For procedure refer tailgate striker removal process.) 8. Disconnect tailgate latch cable from the tailgate striker. 9. Pull out the cable from luggage compartment. FITMENT For fitment follow reverse procedure of removal. c. TAIL GATE STRIKER REMOVAL 1. Open the tailgate. 2. Loosen and remove two mounting screws. FITMENT For fitment follow reverse procedure of removal. d. TAIL GATE LOCK REMOVAL 1. Remove the tail gate trim. 2. Disconnect the link between latch and the Lock Barrel. 3. Remove the mounting screw of lock. 4. Pull out the tail gate lock from outside. FITMENT For fitment follow reverse procedure of removal. NOTE Check the condition of the tailgate lock. Replace the lock if broken or damaged. e. TAIL GATE TRIM REMOVAL 1. Open the tail gate. 2. Pull out tailgate trim by plastic wedge / fingers and pull out trim gently. NOTE While pulling out the tail gate trim, care should be taken such that tree clips do not get damage. Below image gives location of tree clips on tail gate trim. FITMENT 1. Match Tailgate trim buttons properly with the hole. 2. Press trims gently, ensure its proper fitment.
