BRAKES 9 BRAKE NOISE SR.NO. CAUSES REMEDY 1 Glazed shoe linings or foreign matters stuck on linings Repair or replace shoe linings 2 Worn or distorted shoe linings Replace shoe linings or pads 3 Loose front wheel bearings Replace wheel bearing 4 Distorted backing plate or loose mounting bolts Replace or retighten 5 Broken / missing anti-rattle clip Replace EXCESSIVE PEDAL TRAVEL SR.NO. CAUSES REMEDY 1 Partial brake system failure Replace Master cylinder assembly complete. 2 Air in system (pedal soft/spongy) Bleed and top up with recommended brake fluid 3 Soft or bulging hose Replace the hose 4 Excessive clearance between lining and drum in rear brakes due to malfunctioning of auto adjusters Check auto adjuster mechanism. 5 Lining pad knock back caused by loose or worn wheel bearing or other related parts Adjust or replace faulty parts as necessary 6 Insufficient fluid in master cylinder reservoir Fill reservoir with approved brake fluid. Check for leak and air in brake system. Checks warning light bleed system if required. 7 Bend brake shoes or shoes worn out Replace brake shoes. BRAKE WARNING LIGHT LIGHTS AFTER ENGINE START SR.NO. CAUSES REMEDY 1 Parking brake lever in applied Release parking brake and check that condition brake warning light turns off 2 Brake fluid level very low. Add brake fluid of correct specification 3 Leakage of brake fluid Investigate and correct leaky point. Add brake fluid 4 Brake warning light circuit faulty Repair circuit
