STEERING 14 C. INTERMEDIATE SHAFT REMOVAL 1. Remove universal joint cover. 2. Remove the universal joint bolt between steering column & intermediate shaft. 3. Remove the universal joint bolt between intermediate shaft and rack & pinion assembly. 4. Disengage the intermediate shaft from rack & pinion assembly and take out the intermediate shaft. REFITMENT: 1. Keep the front wheels in straight ahead position. 2. Follow the reverse procedure of removal. NOTE:  Refitment of universal joint between intermediate shaft and rack & pinion assembly use new bolt for tightening.  Wheel alignment is necessary after installation (Refer wheel alignment procedure). WARNING Do not reuse the universal joint bolts.
