Align the seal bigger diameter on the housing and position the big seal retaining clamp in its place and swage the large seal-retaining clamp using spanner Please tighten alternatively between two bolts (i.e. don’t tighten one bolt alone completely at a time). 12. PRECAUTION TO AVOID THE DAMAGE TO DRIVE SHAFT 1. Avoid damaging the surface of the threads and splines during installation. 2. Clamps should be in position and tight. If clamps are loose, don’t install into vehicle. 3. To prevent damage to the internal components of the inboard joint, take all precautions to avoid over extending the joints. 4. Protect this surface from nicks and scratches. Damage to this surface may reduce the performance of the mating seal.
