FATC 26 20. OAT SENSOR The ambient temperature sensor is an encapsulated thermistor that provides the ECU with an input of external air temperature. Ambient sensor is a ther- mistor that decreases its resistance when temperature increases and increases when tempera- ture decreases. LOCATION Outside Ambient Temperature (OAT) sensor located under the front grill / front bumper. CONNECTOR DETAIL PIN DESCRIPTION 1 Solar sensor Input to control panel 2 Analog GND REMOVAL 1. Remove the Front bumper. (For removal, refer Font Bumper removal procedure in Body Section). 2. Disconnect the electrical connection. 3. Pull out the OAT sensor from the location. FITMENT For fitment follow reverse procedure of removal. INSPECTION Measure the resistance between terminals of the sensor at minimum two temperatures. The re- sistance value should match with stated values of resistance in table below T (˚C) R Gerber (Ω) Tol (K) U (V) -10 16567.3 ± 277.6 ± 0.30 2.5261 ± 0.0347 0 9773.2 ± 118.4 ± 0.25 2.2035 ± 0.0310 +10 5953.9 ± 102.8 ± 0.36 18366 ± 0.0327 +20 3737.3 ± 79.0 ± 0.50 14661 ± 0.0323 +30 2412.0 ± 57.6 ± 0.60 11297 ± 0.0295
