P1986-07 Variant code procedure not completed Overview: ISO Code P1986-07 Customer Symptom Transmission fault lamp is ON Vehicle not cranking Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Vehicle cranking is disabled Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp is ON Fault Detection Condition This fault gets detected after Ignition On if TCU detects that the Variant Coding service procedure has not been done or not successfully completed Normal Operating Condition Variant Coding Procedure is successfully completed at End of line or after service part replacements (refers service manual) that require such procedure. Probable Trouble Area Wrong execution conditions/Wiring Harness Connections / TCU Healing Condition Immediately after detection of valid Variant Coding procedure Completion. Trouble Shooting:- P1986-07 -Variant code procedure not completed Start Connect the diagnostic tool and Read DTC Is P1986-07 DTC in current state? Clear DTC No Execute Variant coding Yes Stop
