P2904-03: Clutch System – Overheat Overview: ISO Code P2904-03 Customer Symptom Buzzer ON, Transmission Fault Lamp ON, Earlier/late upshifts/downshifts, Jerky / sluggish gear shifting. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Earlier/late up shifts/downshifts, Jerky / sluggish gear shifting. Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission Fault Lamp ON Fault Detection Condition This fault gets detected after Ignition On if clutch temperature is found to be greater than a threshold. Normal Operating Condition TCU detects clutch temperature in a valid range Probable Trouble Area Wiring Harness Connections / Electro valve / TCU / Clutch Healing Condition 500ms after fault is healed Component Details: In an AMT system, the clutch is electro-hydraulically controlled by the TCU. Clutch can become overheated if the vehicle is creeping for very long or if held on up slope using only accelerator pedal and in other cases where there is prolonged clutch slippage. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Valve body and TCU mountings. 2) Check for damage or back out of pins at TCU connector. 3) Check visibly for kit Oil leakage and ensure with diagnostic tool that kit oil pressure is in range 38 - 51 bar 4) Check for mechanical damage to the clutch housing, clutch actuator mechanical fitments 5) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- At first occurrence of this DTC, clear the DTC and drive the vehicle through creeping for 10 minutes, pickup and slow drive ~10 kph in 1 st gear for 10 minutes and through all gears for 2-3 kms. At the repeat occurrence follow the below steps. Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check the clutch assembly and AMT clutch lever interface for mechanical damage, stuck particle, lubrication loss etc? Go to Step 2 Rectify/replace the clutch 2. Check for worn out clutch and excessive slippage. Using the diagnostic tool check the clutch wear index. Is the clutch wear high? Replace the clutch and initiate clutch learning procedure(refer Secxx). Drive the vehicle for yy kms and release to customer after final drive check. Go to Step 3 3. Check clutch electrovalve electrical connections by following same procedure as for DTC – P0900. Are electrical connections OK? Go to Step 4 Establish continuity by rectifying harness connections as per the circuit schematic 4. Check the Connections of the External temperature Sensor (refer procedure for DTC P0710 -04), are sensor connections OK? Go to step 5 Rectify the connections ensure correct sensor operation (refer DTC P0710-04). 5. Check the Connections of the Engine water temperature Sensor (refer procedure for Go to step 6 Rectify the connections ensure correct sensor
