P2176-9 Throttle Actuator Control System – Idle Position Not Learned – Component Failures Overview: ISO Code P2176-9 Customer Symptom 1)ETC Control will Not be active. 2)Vehicle /Engine speed will be limited for safety concerns Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1)ETC Control will Not be active. 2)Vehicle /Engine speed will be limited for safety concerns Lamp Status (If Any) MIL ON after 1 drive cycle Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if the throttle actuator is stuck Open or allow more than maximum allowable drift air as compared to initial position learning. Normal Operating Condition Throttle actuator functions as per design Probable Trouble Area Throttle Actuator Valve Healing Condition After 3 drive cycles Fault permanent deletion 1. Clear DTC Command form Scan tool 2. Stack Over Flow. 3. 40 warm up cycles. 4. ECU Flashing. 5. ECU Power-Fail Component Details: A DC motor drive is used to move the throttle valve over the complete movement range. The DC motor is directly controlled by the ECU of the Gasoline engine. Throttle Valve H-bridge driver of EMS ECU provides bidirectional control with active recirculation and over current detection. Preliminary Checks: 1. Pls. check whether dust/mud/any particle is blocking throttle valve. 2. Pls. check whether the throttle valve is stuck closed 3. Pls. check for any throttle body related faults and rectify those faults by following their rectification procedure.
