P0353-14: Ignition Coil “C” Primary Control Circuit High– Circuit Short to Ground or Open Overview: ISO Code P0353-14 Customer Symptom Ignition failure may lead to misfire & stall the engine Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Ignition failure may lead to misfire & stall the engine Lamp Status (If Any) MIL on after 1 drive cycle Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged when Ignition Coil C Control Circuit Open Circuited. Normal Operating Condition Current flown into the Ignition Coil C primary Circuit is in the range of the calibrated thresholds. Probable Trouble Area Wiring Harness, Ignition Coil, HT Cables, EMS ECU Healing Condition After 3 driving cycle Fault permanent deletion 1. Clear DTC Command form Scan tool 2. Stack Over Flow. 3. 40 warm up cycles. 4. ECU Flashing. 5. ECU Power-Fail Component Details: An ignition coil (also called a spark coil ) is an induction coil in an automobile's ignition system which transforms the battery's low voltage to the thousands of volts needed to create an electric spark in the spark plugs to ignite the fuel. The wire that goes from the ignition coil to the distributor and the high voltage wires that go from the distributor to each of the spark plugs are called spark plug wires or high tension leads. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between Ignition coil B and EMS ECU. 2) Check for back out of pins at both Ignition Coil connector and ECU connector. 3) Check for damage of pins at both Ignition Coil connector and ECU connector. 4) Faulty Ignition Coil B. 5) HT Cables damaged
