SRS / Airbag ECU AB12 DTC Troubleshooting Guide Version: 2.0 Date: 21-June-2021 B100F-96:- Frontal Impact Right sensor component internal failure Overview:- ISO Code B100F-96 Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Front crash detection performance is degraded & Front Right angular crash detection is not guaranteed. Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if Front Impact Right Sensor has internal component failure Normal Operating Condition Internal component failure should not be present. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals Frontal Impact Right sensor Airbag Wiring Harness Airbag ECU Healing Condition Front Impact Right Sensor has to be replaced. Component Details:- (Refer Annexure 2 for Mounting Location of AB12 Airbag ECU) Frontal Impact Sensor:- It is usually located in the radiator support vertical member. Front impact sensors collect the data necessary to make decisions about Airbag deployment Airbag ECU : - It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and passengers. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound. 4. Check whether the Front Impact Right Sensor is connected properly to the wiring harness. Ensure the proper locking of the Front Impact Right Sensor to the wiring harness connector. Troubleshooting :-
