SRS / Airbag ECU AB12 DTC Troubleshooting Guide Version: 2.0 Date: 21-June-2021 B0001-55:- Driver Airbag Deployment Control not configured Overview:- ISO Code B0001-55 Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Driver Airbag deployment not guaranteed, if a crash happens Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Detection Condition Driver Airbag Deployment Device is not configured in EOL, but physically present in the vehicle Normal Operating Condition Configuration & physical presence in the vehicle should be as per the VC. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals Driver Airbag deployment Module Airbag Wiring Harness Clock Spring Airbag ECU Healing Condition 1.Correct System configuration should be written to Airbag ECU as per VC. 2.Driver Airbag physical presence should be as per VC. Component Details:- (Refer Annexure 2 for Mounting Location of AB12 Airbag ECU) Clock spring:- It is located between the steering column and steering wheel that conducts electrical signals in an Airbag system to the module, while allowing steering-wheel rotation. This provides electrical continuity in all steering wheel positions. Driver Airbag Module:- It is fitted inside the steering wheel consisting of a flexible fabric envelope or cushion designed to inflate rapidly during an accident Airbag ECU : - It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and passengers Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound. Troubleshooting:-
