SRS / Airbag ECU AB12 DTC Troubleshooting Guide Version: 2.0 Date: 21-June-2021 B0004-11:- Driver Knee Airbag Deployment Control circuit short to ground Overview:- ISO Code B0004-11 Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Driver Knee Airbag deployment not guaranteed, if a crash happens Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if any of the high side (B24) or low side pin (B23) of Driver Knee Airbag gets shorted with ground line. Normal Operating Condition No short with ground should be present. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals Driver Side Airbag Module Airbag Wiring Harness Airbag ECU Healing Condition Remove the short to ground. Component Details:- (Refer Annexure 2 for Mounting Location of AB12 Airbag ECU) Driver Knee Airbag: - The knee airbag is placed below the steering wheel from the lower part of the dashboard. Airbag ECU : - It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and passengers Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound.
