SRS / Airbag ECU AB12 DTC Troubleshooting Guide Version: 2.0 Date: 21-June-2021 B0029-1B:- Inflatable Curtain Airbag RH Deployment Control 1 circuit resistance above threshold Overview:- ISO Code B00291B Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Right Curtain deployment not guaranteed, if a crash happens Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if the circuit resistance of Right Curtain is above the threshold value (5.5 Ohm) after 3 seconds of cranking. Normal Operating Condition The maximum threshold for Right Curtain Deployment Control circuit is 5.5 Ohm. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals Right Curtain Module Airbag ECU Airbag Wiring Harness Healing Condition Maximum threshold resistance for Right Curtain should be less than 5.5 Ohm. Component Details:- (Refer Annexure 2 for Mounting Location of AB12 Airbag ECU) Right Curtain Module : - In the vehicle, curtain Airbag is folded and installed behind roof headliner on Right Side of the vehicle. Airbag ECU : - It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and passengers. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound. Troubleshooting:-
