P0013-13: “B” Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit– Circuit Open Overview: ISO Code P0013-13 Customer Symptom MIL getting ON Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Driveability will not get affected, emission might slightly get affected Lamp Status (If Any) MIL ON after 1 drive cycle Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged when VVT (ex) Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit – Open Circuited Normal Operating Condition Healthy Wiring Harness connections between VVT IN, VVT ex and EMS ECU Probable Trouble Area Wiring Harness Connections, Sensor, ECU Healing Condition After 3 drive cycles Fault permanent deletion 1. Clear DTC Command form Scan tool 2. Stack Over Flow. 3. 40 warm up cycles. 4. ECU Flashing. 5. ECU power fail Component Details: The variable camshaft timing oil control solenoid is attached to camshaft and is hydraulically operated in order to change the angle of the camshaft relative to crankshaft position. The variable camshaft timing oil control solenoid is controlled by the EMS ECU. The EMS ECU sends a pulse width modulated 12 volt signal to a variable camshaft timing oil control solenoid.
