SRS / Airbag ECU AB12 DTC Troubleshooting Guide Version: 2.0 Date: 21-June-2021 B1010-12:- Crash output HW circuit short to battery Overview:- ISO Code B1010-12 Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Crash output functionality not available in vehicle as per VC resulting in degraded functionality of automatic door unlocks & fuel cut off in case of an accident. Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster Fault Detection Condition 1. Crash output HW device is configured in EOL, but physically not present in the vehicle. 2. Crash output HW is short to battery Normal Operating Condition 1. Correct system configuration should be present in Airbag ECU as per the VC. 2. Crash output HW presence should be as per the VC. 3. Short to battery should not be present for Crash output HW. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals Crash Output HW Airbag ECU Healing Condition Correct System configuration should be written to Airbag ECU as per VC. Short to battery for Crash output HW should be removed. Component Details:- (Refer Annexure 2 for Mounting Location of AB12 Airbag ECU) Airbag ECU : - It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and passengers. Crash Output HW:- Crash Output signal via Hardware pin (A5) is sent by Airbag ECU to other ECU’s in the vehicle within 25 milliseconds when a crash happens. BCM & EMS ECU processes this crash output signal. BCM ECU will trigger for door unlocking & hazard lights ON & EMS ECU will trigger for fuel cut off. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound. Troubleshooting:-
