SRS / Airbag ECU AB12 DTC Troubleshooting Guide Version: 2.0 Date: 21-June-2021 B0028-1B:- Side Airbag Front RH Deployment Control circuit resistance above threshold Overview:- ISO Code B0028-1B Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Side Airbag Front RH deployment not guaranteed, if a crash happens Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if the circuit resistance of Side Airbag Front RH is above the threshold value (5.5 Ohm) after 3 seconds of cranking. Normal Operating Condition The maximum threshold for Right Side Deployment Control circuit is 5.5 Ohm. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals Side Airbag Front RH Module Airbag ECU Healing Condition Maximum threshold resistance for Side Airbag Front RH resistance should be less than 5.5 Ohm. Component Details:- (Refer Annexure 2 for Mounting Location of AB12 Airbag ECU) Side Airbag Front RH Module: - This airbag is located in seat which inflate between the occupant and door. Airbag ECU : - It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and passengers Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound. Troubleshooting:-
