B1642 – 14:- Brake Switch– Short to Ground or Open Overview:- (NOTE:- This signal is applicable for AT and AMT variant vehicle only. ) ISO Code (DTC Code) B1642 - 11 Customer Symptom 1. Passive vehicle starting will not work only clamp state will change from OFF/ACC/IGN in AT/AMT. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Passive vehicle starting will not work only clamp state will change from OFF/ACC/IGN in AT/AMT. Lamp Status (If Any) N.A. Fault Detection Condition 1. Permanent short circuit to ground/open of brake signal of brake switch. 2. Wire cut & shorting to ground/open of Connector-2 / Pin-2 signal. 3. Bending of pin-2 of connector-2 and shorting to each adjacent pin. Normal Operating Condition 1. Vehicle battery voltage shall be normal. 2. Brake pedal shall not be pressed continuously for more than 3 min. 3. Valid paired UID should be present inside the vehicle, brake pedal press and SSB should be pressed. Probable Trouble Area 1. Permanent short circuit to ground/open of brake signal of brake switch. 2. Wire cut & shorting to ground/open of Connector-2 / Pin-2 signal with vehicle body. 3. Bending of pin-2 of connector-2 and shorting to ground/open pin. Healing Condition 1. After fixing short to ground/open fault on brake signal of brake switch, passive vehicle start should work normally. Table43 :- B1642-14 overview details Component Details:- 1. Brake switch. 2.
