P0217-4B: Engine Coolant Temperature Over 110 deg C – Over Temperature Overview: ISO Code P0217-4B Customer Symptom 1. Engine shut-off 2. Danger of damage to engine and other components in engine room 3. The starter abuse function would prevent the vehicle from starting until the coolant temperature reaches 90 deg C Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Engine shut-off 2. Danger of damage to engine and other components in engine room 3. The starter abuse function would prevent the vehicle from starting until the coolant temperature reaches 90 deg C Lamp Status (If Any) CE Lamp ON after 1 drive cycle Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if the EMS ECU senses the Engine Coolant temperature greater than 110 degrees centigrade Normal Operating Condition Coolant Temperature is less than 90 degrees. Probable Trouble Area Radiator fan not working, Wiring Harness connections of Radiator fan, Coolant Evaporated, Cooling flow blocked, Damage to Radiator Healing Condition Engine After Run and after 1 drive cycles of fault rectification. Fault permanent deletion 1. Clear DTC Command form Scan tool 2. Stack Over Flow. 3. 40 warm up cycles. 4. ECU Flashing. 5. ECU Power-Fail Preliminary Checks: 1. Check whether the radiator fan is functioning well or damaged or stalled 2. Check whether the coolant flow is blocked 3. Check whether the Radiator is damaged 4. Check whether the entire coolant is evaporated 5. Check whether the Radiator Fan wiring harness connections are Faulty
