B191C - 11:- Vehicle Speed Sensor Power Supply Output Short To Ground Overview:- ISO Code B191C – 11 Customer Symptom No Speedometer indication in Gauge Fault Effects (On Vehicle) N/A Lamp Status (If Any) N/A Fault Detection Condition During vehicle running Speedometer pointer shall be at ‘ 0 ’ position. Normal Operating Condition Speedometer gauge shall move the pointer w.r.to the speed sensor input frequency pulses. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals damaged IPC connector wired wrong, Harness wire shorted, Sensor connector wired wrong, Sensor damaged Healing Condition Clearing fault. Ignition On/Off Component Details:- VSS Sensor - It gives direct frequency pulse input to the Cluster w.r.to the wheel rotation. It indicates the vehicle speed with pointer position in gauge. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage is normal in the range (9v - 16v) 2. Check VSS power o/p lines for Pinch/Cut. 3. Check ECU & VSS power pins for oxidation, bending & damage. 4. Check Speed Sensor Power o/p at Pin no. J1-3(o/p) of the ECU connector, it should be same as battery voltage.
