B1938 - 06:- Vehicle Speed Sensor Algorithm Based Failure Overview:- ISO Code B1938 – 06 Customer Symptom No Speedometer indication in Gauge Fault Effects (On Vehicle) N/A Lamp Status (If Any) N/A Fault Detection Condition During vehicle running Speedometer pointer shall be at ‘ 0 ’ position. Normal Operating Condition Speedometer gauge shall move the pointer w.r.to the speed sensor input frequency pulses. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals damaged IPC connector wired wrong, Harness wire shorted, Sensor connector wired wrong, Sensor damaged Healing Condition Clearing fault. Ignition Off/On Component Details:- Vehicle Speed Sensor - This sensor gives direct pulse input to the Cluster w.r.to the wheel rotation or vehicle speed. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage is normal in the range(9v - 16v) 2. Check Fuel lines for Pinch/Cut. 3. Check ECU & Sensor pins for oxidation, bending & damage. 4. Check and ensure Speed Sensor is giving linear pulse output w.r.to the vehicle speed. 5. Check Sensor pulse input on Pin no. 27(i/p) & 31(Gnd) of the wired connector, whether it is according to the design specifications.
