START Connect Diagnostic tool and Run Input Test Routine and operate the switches as mentioned in the input switch test routine specification. Is DTC P1E00 – 12 logged by Routine? Disconnect vehicle battery connection. (Please follow the safety guidelines) Check BCM and ESS Switch for terminal backout Are connectors loose? 1.Remove BCM Connector. 2.Perform visual check of connectors for pins bent or damaged. Is connector faulty? Check continuity between BCMconnector pin [C1 - 6] Harness side) with battery [C3-2/C3-1] Continuity Found? 1. Remove ESS Switch 2. Check continuity between BCMharness side connector pin [C1-6] and ESS Switch STOP YES NO YES NO Reconnect connectors firmly Correct connector fault (Terminals Bend) YES NO Correct BCM Sidewiring harness (Short to Battery) NO YES P1E00 - 12: ESS Switch - Circuit short to Battery Perform the visual check of connectors for pin bend or damaged Is connector faulty? Check continuity at ESS Switch [C1-6] with ground [C1- 34/C1-47] Continuity found? BCM ECU Faulty Correct connector fault (Terminal Bend) Correct connector fault at ESS Switch mating connector YES NO YES NO Replace BCM ECU Continuity found? YES NO 1. Switch is faulty 2. Replace ESS Switch Check continuity between two terminals of ESS Switch
