B1601 - 11: Bonnet State Switch - Circuit Short to Ground Overview: ISO Code (DTC Code) B1601 - 11 Customer Symptom 1. Alarm may sound. 2. ESS may not function correctly. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Alarm may sound. 2. ESS may not function correctly. Lamp Status (If Any) None. Fault Detection Condition This fault will be logged after the input switch test routine execution. User has to operate the switch manually during routine. If short to ground fault is detected for Bonnet state Switch, then this DTC code will be returned with the Routine results. Normal Operating Condition There should not be any fault returned by routine. Alarm must not sound and ESS must work properly. Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault 2. Bonnet state switch side wiring harness short to ground 3. Bonnet state switch is damaged or stuck or faulty 4. BCM ECU fault Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF  ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: Bonnet state switch, BCM connector Functionality: If the Bonnet state switch is Short to Ground, then the Alarm may sound and ESS may not function correctly. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage. Trouble Shooting:
