B2240- 14: Rear Wiper Relay Short to Ground/ Open Overview: ISO Code (DTC Code) B2240- 14 Customer Symptom Rear Wiper is always ON even though not requested through switch. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Rear Wiper motor is always ON. Lamp Status (If Any) NA Fault Detection Condition This fault will logged with IGN ON Normal Operating Condition IGN ON and No DTC logged. Rear wiper operates only when requested through switch. Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault. 2. Rear harness Short to Ground. 3. Relay fault. 4. ECU fault. Healing Condition 1. Switch request after fault removal 2. Clear DTC command- No DTC logged Component Details: BCM drives the Rear wiper motor through this relay by providing GND to the relay coil. Hence in case this output is shorted to GND the relay will be continuously ON even though user doesn’t request. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage. Trouble Shooting:-
