B2256- 12: Wiper High/Low Relay Short to BATT Overview: ISO Code (DTC Code) B2256- 12 Customer Symptom Front Wiper will always operate in Low speed mode when user request Wiper LOW/ HIGH through combi switch. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Front Wiper will always operate in low speed mode when requested. Lamp Status (If Any) NA Fault Detection Condition This fault will logged with IGN ON and wiper switch ON is requested. Normal Operating Condition IGN ON and No DTC logged. Front wiper operated in low speed and high speed as per switch request. Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault. 2. Front harness Short to Ground. 3. Relay fault. 4. ECU fault. Healing Condition 1. Switch request after fault removal 2. Clear DTC command- No DTC logged Component Details: BCM drives the wiper motor in Low/ High speed through this relay(speed selection) by providing GND to the relay coil. Hence in case this output is shorted to BATT the relay will be continuously OFF(If the relay is OFF, it will drive the wiper motor in SLOW speed when wiper is ON). Hence whenever User will switch ON the wiper, the wiper motor will switch ON in slow speed mode. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage. Trouble Shooting:-
